Movement Fest & Back2School Bash

The Town of Forest City and Grahamtown Team are hosting Movement Fest & Back2School Bash on Saturday, August 3 from 10am-3pm at POPS! Movement Fest & Back2School Bash is our initiative to improve the health and quality of life of youth and adults in Rutherford County. Our goals are to:

• Showcase the availability of healthy options in our county
• Provide contact information about each agency to the community
• Give information about activities that are available throughout the year
• Connect with parents to make them comfortable with healthy offerings
• Promote healthy eating and active living to young people by showing them how to establish good habits early

Vendors will be set up with booths throughout the park that offer different activities that promote wellness and healthy living. Join us for games, prizes, inflatables, dunking booth, food, and more!

Join us for a great way to check out all of the amazing healthy opportunities that are available in Rutherford County!

POPS Easter Bash

The Town of Forest City, Scoop Ice Cream, and Chick-Fil-A present the 2024 POPS Easter Bash!

Join us on Saturday, March 30 from 1-3PM for a family-friendly Easter festival.  Don't miss the Easter Bunny, face painting, balloon art, and more!  For the first 200 kids under 10 years old, enjoy a free kiddie scoop on us.  Don’t worry about getting lunch beforehand - we’ll have Chick-Fil-A available for purchase.  See you there!

Hometown Holiday Festivities

Join us this holiday season for carriage rides, hayrides, Santa Claus, "ice"-skating and LIGHTS!

Reserve your own private horse-drawn carriage for a ride under the lights along historic Main Street. Carriage rides will be sold online in advance on a reservation system.  Visit www.exploreforestcity.com beginning Monday, November 27, 2023 at 12:00PM to make reservations.   Carriages can seat 4 adults or fewer adults plus additional children.  The carriages will depart from Huntley Alley behind the concession stand at POPS (153 Park Square).

Bring the family and enjoy a hayride along historic Main Street.  Hayrides will load in front of Main Street Meetings, 108 East Main Street.  Tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis.

Stroll through POPS and view the largest lighted ornament in the region!  The ornament makes a great photo op for your holiday photos!  And don't miss the decorated tree located on the small splash pad!

Santa will be visiting with the kids on the stage inside POPS from 6PM-9PM.

The "ice"-skating rink will be open from 6PM-until.  Located across Park Square from POPS, the rink is a hit with both young and old alike!

Local food trucks will be set up near the Rutherford County Farmers Market.

Explore Forest City Main Street Association will be selling hot chocolate, cider, and coffee at the POPS concession stand.

While in Forest City, make sure to visit our local restaurants and shops on historic Main Street!  Grab a bite to eat, shop for unique Christmas gifts, and view the decorated storefront windows!

Forest City Fire Rescue and the Town of Forest City are hosting the 22nd Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Monday, September 11, 2023 at POPS.

We welcome the community to join us as we remember the injured and those who lost their lives in the line of duty during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.

Finally Fridays Concert

Band: Rivermist

About the Band:

Rivermist was formed in July 2014 in Fayetteville, NC. Rivermist’s love of audience appeal, along with the desire to preserve music familiar to their roots, is what sparked the formation of the group. “RIVERMIST” is primarily a Classic Rock/ R&B/ Variety/ Party band, and has been voted been voted Fayetteville/ Ft Bragg’s “Best Band” by Up & Coming Weekly Newspaper, 7 years running! They have almost 7,500 followers on Facebook, as well.

Now Rivermist has NEW, original songs, including chart topper, Pucker Up, available for download, and has been nominated for CAMMY (Carolina Beach Music Academy) for "Rising Star" award for 2022. Also, they were named the 2021 “Vocal Group of the Year” by the CCMA in January of 2022!

Their shows are FUN; however intensively performed as only professionally driven musicians will give. They realize success will always be judged by their fans first. Rivermist’ harmonies, as well as the musicianship, is something that needs to be experienced. The shows are also energetic, so booking Rivermist at your venue is a great choice, and will definitely make it a more exciting event!
